Prerequisite Costs – $325 or $550
Trainees who have been accepted into the 2014 program and have not yet taken the CCT course will need to do so before the program curriculum starts in January 2014. Accepted trainees who need to complete this prerequisite requirement may choose one of the following two options:
Option A: Take the 8-week Compassion Cultivation Training Course offered by CCARE at Stanford University in Fall 2013. Schedule TBA. Registration is $325 (includes instruction & materials).
Option B: Attend a 3-day intensive retreat version of Compassion Cultivation Training Course at Asilomar Conference Center held January 14-16, 2014. Registration costs $550 (includes instruction & materials).**
Note: This retreat is customized specifically for teacher trainees who have not previously completed the 8-week CCT course. Distance trainees will likely need to utilize this option. It is also open to local trainees who are not able to complete the 8-week CCT course at Stanford before January 2014.
Program Costs (January 2014 – June 2014) $7500
The total registration costs for a 2014 trainee to complete the training curriculum is $7500. Registration fees cover program expenses for retreats/intensives, academic courses, trainee group supervision by a Senior Teacher, administration, and evaluation. The program registration fees do not cover travel, food, lodging, books, certification fees, and any online or phone costs incurred.
Certification Costs (To be completed between July 2014 – June 2015) $1500
Trainees who have completed all program requirements and are in good standing are eligible to undergo supervised teaching of a single CCT course, which is required in order to become a certified CCT Teacher. The fee for supervised teaching of a CCT course is $1500. Additional costs the certification candidate may incur while conducting the 8-week CCT course while undergoing supervised teaching are: video camera equipment rental (to record classes), meditation CD production (for distribution to students in class), and any printing costs. Undergoing the supervision process does not guarantee that candidates will be certified; however, every effort is made to support candidates through the process.
A breakdown of program fees and due dates is listed below, and a PDF can be obtained by clicking here. Trainees must submit a program deposit payment when they first enroll into the program, followed by three separate registration payments at later dates.
Program deposit and registration payments are payable by credit card online (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) or by check/money order (made payable to Stanford University). All payments must be made in US dollars. Payment (including checks) must be received by CCARE on or before the payment’s due date.
If enrollment into the program is cancelled by October 15, 2013, 50% of the program deposit will be refunded. If enrollment into the program is cancelled after October 15, 2013, the program deposit will not be refunded.
Due to the small size of the training program, and the inability to accept new trainees mid-program, all other payments made after the deposit payment are non-refundable.
