"Since completing my Capstone Project, I have been able to utilize the tools that ACT provided to help businesses and individuals set #GoodIntentions. This has helped me take my workshops to another level, and be braver in applying compassion."
Capstone Project
Good Intentions: Workshops for Businesses and Individuals
Who did your project serve and what suffering did it address?
My Capstone Project served employees at Salesforce and my coaching clients. The challenges it addressed were sadness and disengagement of people not feeling connected to how their work helps humanity.
How did this project address that suffering?
By setting a #GoodIntention, we take a moment to be consciously compassionate about the actions that benefit another person and the feelings we leave them with. When we take action to bring meaning into our everyday tasks, we fulfill a part of us that needs to feel the joy of human connection and our value in helping others.
Who was your audience and how many people participated?
Salesforce internal teams across customer success, sales and recruiting, as well as my external coaching clients. In total, I facilitated over 60 sessions, engaged over 152 attendees total in group sessions and 106 slack group members. There were approximately 600 listens/watch media on my website.
How was the project delivered (the format)?
I conducted several team introductory sessions in Salesforce and client sessions. I shared my own content on my website for on-demand use: a free guided audio meditation (43 listens), a free guided Good Intentions transformation exercise (118 listens), a free guided #GoodIntentions visualization (72 listens), a podcast interview (over 250 listens) and a Good Intentions intro video (114 plays on YouTube).
What was the reported impact on or feedback from participants? On yourself?
Within my own team across Europe, India, Buenos Aires, Singapore and Australia, it is now a regular part of our meetings for people set “Good Intentions” at the start of presentations. I have over 20 testimonials from people who are using the model in Salesforce. One participant shared: “Clare helped me to bring heartfulness into my professional life. It transformed how I approach my work, making it sustainable and fulfilling in a way I didn’t think was possible. I apply her principle of Good Intentions to all my business calls and meetings.”
How has the ACT Program helped you become an Ambassador of Compassion?
ACT gave me invaluable real ways of helping my teams, my clients and even my community and family. It helped me learn the power of slowly bringing people together and our shared space created a great bond even while meeting online!
What advice would you give to someone who’s considering participating in the ACT Program?
Do it! It is one of the most valuable courses I have ever done, and I have done a lot! Also, I would suggest to be brave and take action on your ideas. I just kept setting up sessions, emailing colleagues and not waiting until I had things perfect — otherwise, I would never have done anything!
