"The months exploring and planning for the Capstone Project has shown me compassion can be infused in every interaction. The most transformative behavior has been self compassion — I discovered that when I show myself compassion, I can be more compassionate with others."

Compassion Incognito – IT Team Building
Who did your project serve and what suffering did it address?
My Capstone Project served IT leadership and IT individual teams, and it addressed the feeling of isolation due to COVID and burnout.
How did this project address that suffering?
I created and facilitated a workshop with the intent to cultivate a more collaborative team environment.
Who was your audience and how many people participated?
The pilot workshop included 12 participants and the leadership workshop also included 12 participants. Each workshop consisted of 2-3 sessions of 1-2 hours, depending on the goals of the team.
What was the reported impact on or feedback from participants? On yourself?
The survey results indicated that participants developed a deeper appreciation for their colleagues. One participant shared: “This was a great way to reflect on myself, transition to a new leadership position and learn a lot about my peers!”
How has the ACT Program helped you become an Ambassador of Compassion?
ACT taught me that compassion can happen in every moment of my life. I invite compassion by practicing self-compassion with critical thoughts and deeply listening to others.
What advice would you give to someone who’s considering participating in the ACT Program?
Do NOT hesitate! The ACT Program is for everyone. If you’re seeking something, but you don’t know what is it and you’ve found ACT, get ready for a beautiful adventure.
