CCARE’s Innovation arm translates compassion science into new tools, experiences, and approaches that strengthen human connection and well-being. Working alongside Research and Education, we bring together human-centered design, the responsible use of artificial intelligence, and the arts and humanities to explore how compassion can shape the development of technologies and systems. Our goal is to create more time and space for compassionate care, support those who give and receive it, and turn insights into practical improvements in healthcare and beyond.
AI Compassion Research in the Workplace
Our research explores how artificial intelligence can strengthen compassion in the workplace, beginning in healthcare. We aim to develop and evaluate approaches that improve clinical operations and reduce workflow burdens, allowing physicians and nurses to spend more time at the bedside with patients and families. We seek to understand how these changes support human connection, compassionate care, and staff well-being, with the broader goal of informing more compassionate workplaces across settings.
