Sara Owens Woodard, PhD is a retired psychologist whose area of expertise is treating young children with complex trauma and attachment system dysfunction. This work includes training extended family and larger systems serving these young children.
Dr. Woodard provided reflective supervision and training to first responders in underserved communities. These responders included child protection workers, infant home-visitors, indigenous community leaders, teachers, nurses, physicians, therapists, and psychologists.
Dr. Woodard has also developed and delivered short, accessible forms of loving-kindness and compassion training as part of a comprehensive personal development program for physician leaders and operational leaders in a Fortune 100 healthcare organization. These trainings focused on developing skills for emotion regulation, building healthy, collaborative relationships, increasing resilience, and preventing burnout. She delivered similar programs to physicians and professionals in smaller organizations serving children and families in under-resourced communities.
Sara is a Buddhist practitioner with almost forty years of formal meditation training. She is excited to be a part of CCARE’s healthcare team.
