Wikis > Compassion Definitions > Schadenfreude
Schadenfreude is when we evaluate an individual to be responsible for negative outcomes, we tend to feel very little compassion and a lot of anger; when responsible individuals suffer as a consequence of their offensive behaviors, we feel morally guided, justice-based pleasure/satisfaction.
Schadenfreude: an emotional reaction defined as taking pleasure in another’s misfortune.
