The CCARE Compassion Education for Healthcare Team is bringing compassion into the everyday work of healthcare.
Bornali Basu, PhD, supports healthcare professionals navigating depression, anxiety, and career transitions. At New York University’s Bellevue Hospital, she founded a Mind-Body Program for people living with chronic medical conditions.
Sara Owens Woodard, PhD, spent her career caring for children experiencing complex trauma and supporting the families and professionals around them. She has developed compassion practices for physician and operational leaders, drawing on nearly forty years of meditation training.
Bornali and Sara serve as Co-Directors of Compassion in Healthcare and founding teachers of Compassion & Wellbeing in Healthcare.
Diana Adams, EdD, a Stanford Adjunct Professor specializing in chronic pain, brings decades of clinical care and medical staff leadership to Compassion Cultivation Training for Physicians and Psychologists and her role as Director of Compassion Cultivation Training for Physicians and Psychologists.
Their courses give participants opportunities to practice responding to suffering, working with self-judgment, and strengthening connection amid healthcare’s demands.
