Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for Healthcare Professionals:
NYSED, ASWB/ACE and ANCC approved for 12 CE contact hours
You may be eligible to earn 12 CE credits for successfully completing the Compassion & Wellbeing in Healthcare course. Please read the information below and confirm with your state licensing board before enrolling. CE credits are included in the cost of the course.
CE credits are provided by New York University’s Silver School of Social Work and Rory Meyers College of Nursing, which is co-sponsoring the Compassion & Wellbeing in Healthcare course. Healthcare professionals from states other than New York should check with their licensing board as to whether or not they accept CEs approved by New York State Boards.
Social Work
- New York University Silver School of Social Work is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed Social Workers {#SW-0012}. This organization (NYU Silver School of Social Work, #1415) is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. NYU Silver School of Social Work maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: 11/11/25 – 11/11/28. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits.
Mental Health Counseling – NY State
- New York University Silver School of Social Work is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors {#MHC-0083}.
Marriage and Family Therapy – NY State
- NYU Silver School of Social Work is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed marriage and family therapists {#MFT-0126}.
Psychologists – NY State
- New York University, Silver School of Social Work, is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Psychology as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychologists {#PSY-0268}.
Licensed Psychoanalysts – NY State
- NYU Silver School of Social Work is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychoanalysts {#P-0066}.
Licensed Creative Arts Therapists – NY State
- NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, & Human Development is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed creative arts therapists (LCAT) {#CAT-0062} and now has an affiliation for LCATs with NYU Silver School of Social Work.
Nurses
- NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing Center for Nursing Continuing Professional Development is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Once enrolled, it is the sole responsibility of the participant to arrive within 15 minutes of the start of each class, to participate with their video (camera) on, and to submit a separate course evaluation form after the final class. No partial CE credit is available if more than one class is missed.
